completed Lugger refit from above

1 week intensive family refit! (22-27/5/2013)

Hull & decks cleaned and polished, motor now serviced, gunwales teak oiled (Liberon UV with tung oil) and duckboards oiled with boiled linseed. Rudder rubbed down, special metal primed and then painted with 'hammered' finish. Spars, oars and mast cabinet-scraped and sanded, then triple varnished with Epifanes. Trailer greased. New parallel beads & boat name (Eva)* ordered ... almost ready for trials..
* she was Evangeline

Before & After

would have liked to fully strip all old varnish/stain the mast before varnish but function & get finished always takes precedent in jolworld (my excuse for nonperfection laziness perhaps), but will heat gun Pelican gaffer mast next week, after scraping & sanding, as it won't be taken down as easily/often -- will use lessons learnt thx all -) .....worse than guitars, m'bikes & rabbits, we now have a small Armada to maintain! --- anyone want to share Pelican? (2k for 1/2 share)
